Violin Program

Hello, My name is Michael Tagart,  the Violin teacher at Crown Point Junior Academy.  Allow me to tell you a little about myself. I attended San Diego State University on a full tuition scholarship for violin, where I majored in Music Education (with Mrs. Freese!). I've always loved sharing the gift of music with my students and I'm so thrilled to be doing it at CPJMA.  When I'm not teaching young minds and hearts, I continue to play my violin and cello, making music for weddings and theater productions. Growing up, I loved playing chamber music with my friends and I still find the same level of enjoyment in it to this day.

About the CPJMA Violin Program:

Our Violin Program is a unique opportunity that allows students to develop musicianship, creativity, and discipline while learning to play the violin in a supporting and engaging environment. Participation requires students to demonstrate exemplary behavior, consistent effort, and respect for peers, teachers, and instruments. Our violinists perform a Winter and Spring concert.

We encourage all students who are curious about playing the violin to sign up!
